IntroCar COVID-19 & Brexit Update (Issued Tuesday 5th January 2021)

Update: Covid-19 & New National Lockdown

This page has been updated in light of the new national lockdown announced last night by Boris Johnson.

Warehouse and distribution businesses, which are not generally retail facing, are able to continue operating in the UK, and we expect to continue servicing our national and international customers in as close to normal manner as possible. Throughout 2020 we were able to implement changes that safeguarded service levels as well as protecting our customers and staff, so we are well prepared and intend to operate a near normal service through the lockdown.

Orders may be placed in the usual manner but using email or placing orders online is helpful if you can possibly do so via our website

Of utmost importance is the health and well-being of our staff, customers, and suppliers, and we wish to ensure that everyone is safe. For this reason we are asking that customers do not attend the premises except to collect pre-orders, which will be made available in a Covid-safe manner. Should you wish to collect, we will ask you to remain in our car park and telephone our main number (0208 546 2027), and your order will be brought to you (with a smile!). If you can tell us your sales order number that will help.

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic we have been careful to implement policies and practices that facilitate safety and also protect service levels. For those who need to be working on site, we are adopting social distancing and additional safety measures but order fulfillment operations are functioning normally. We have been able, through the good offices of our well-motivated staff, to avoid almost all delays and we will keep you advised on any amendments to the expected time of dispatch.

Update: Brexit

IntroCar welcomes the trade deal with our European partners, which ensures tariff free trade and no increase in prices to our valued clientele. However, we do expect there to be some delays to transit times in the first few weeks of 2021 as hauliers and customs officials become accustomed to the additional bureaucracy. Our shipment partner DHL has continued with the suspension of its Economy Express (road) shipment service into Europe because of potential delays in transit times. However, this service will be reinstated from Thursday January 7th. In the interim despatch may be made via the Express (Air) service as normal, and we suggest upgrading to this service for any time sensitive orders to minimise any chance of delay.
