Next Rolls Goes For A Cool £1m
Rolls-Royce thinks its new Phantom Drophead Coupé could be the most expensive new car ever sold in the US, after one was bought for $2million (£1.01million) at a charity auction in Florida.

The bid was the highest price paid in the Naples Winter Wine Festival's seven-year history. The auction is attended by top vintners and chefs, plus TV and film stars. Rolls launched the new Drophead at January's Detroit Motor Show, but the auction's top bidder will have to wait for delivery - production of the £300,000 soft-top starts at the company's factory in Goodwood, West Sussex, this summer.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced the winner of ‘Go Wild at Rolls-Royce’ – the competition which invited children from primary schools in West Sussex to design a wildlife garden. The winning design will be created this spring by children from Fishbourne CE Primary School – together with Rolls-Royce employees – within the 42 acre grounds of the manufacturing plant and head office at Goodwood.

Rolls-Royce is committed to encouraging biodiversity and is a Gold Member of the Sussex Wildlife Trust. The competition, organised in partnership with the Trust, offers scope for children to develop their artistic and creative skills ....»read more«
Tibaldi for Bentley Pens blank

Bentley has joined the ranks of Ferrari and other luxury car makers with their own branded pens. The pens are from italian company Tibaldi and celebrate 60 years of production at their Crewe factory. The pens get their looks from the two limited edition cars produced for the Diamond Jubilee of the Crewe factory, the Arnage and the Continental GT Diamond Series and have the Bentley B on the top of the cap. The limited edition includes 400 silver fountain pens. 200 silver roller balls, 40 solid white gold fountain pens and 20 solid white gold roller balls. ....»read more«
New apprentices at Rolls-Royce blank

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has today announced the start of recruitment for the company's second intake of apprentices.

The successful applicants will join the apprenticeship programme in August 2007 working alongside skilled craftspeople in the paint, wood, leather, assembly or maintenance areas.

The first 12 apprentices joined the company in September 2006.

The company's apprenticeship programme was successfully launched last year and has received applications from around the world.

The programme provides people aged 16-19 with the opportunity to train with the Goodwood-based manufacturer of the world's best selling super-luxury cars. ....»read more«
